Denglisch fordert uns immer mehr ab. Wenn wir im Internet surfen, ein kleines Programm installieren, die Bedienungsanleitung für den neuen Toaster oder den Werbebrief unserer Bank verstehen wollen, immer sind es englische Fachbegriffe, die wir checken müssen. Im Urlaub ganz weit weg kommen wir mit Englisch weiter. Im Büro am Telefon sowieso. Dass die Engländer selbst noch Namen für neue Dinge finden, wundert uns, benutzen wir doch einfach den englischen Ausdruck. Und sind auch noch modern. Je besser wir Englisch beherrschen, desto leichter kommen wir in Beruf und Alltag zurecht. Wo von Haus aus Englisch gesprochen wird, in Großbritannien, in den USA, wird unser Kommunikationsvermögen auch kritisch betrachtet. Wer will schon nach dem ersten Satz als deutsch entlarvt werden? Das neueste Handy leisten wir uns, für die körperliche Gesundheit wird im Wellnesshotel oder Fitnessstudio trainiert, aber: Tun wir auch genug für unser Kommunikationsvermögen? Die Welt von morgen spricht englisch! |
“Denglish” requires more and more of us. Whether we are surfing the internet, installing a small new program, or if we want to understand the instruction manual of a new toaster or our bank's sales letter, it's always English terms that we have to understand. On holiday far, far away we can get on quite nicely with English. The same is true while talking on the phone in the office. We are amazed that the English find new names for new things, and we simply use the English expression. And these are also modern ones. The more proficient we are with our English, the easier it is to manage our professional and personal lives. Where the language is spoken at home, for example in the UK and in the USA, our ability to communicate is look critically. Who wants to already be unmasked as a German after the first sentence? The newest mobile phone we can afford, we train in wellness hotels or in gyms for our physical fitness, but do we do enough for our capacity to communicate? The world of tomorrow will be speaking English! |
